Leaking caps are 100% normal and it’s to be expected from a cap

I have had a Snugtop rebel for over two years. Mine only leaks when its been sitting in consistent rain for more than a day or so and the leakage is very minimal. I know a lot of people have issues when they remove them and re-install them somewhat often. Mine has not been removed since the shop I purchased it from installed it.

I have a Diamondback tonneau, but I have found that I get water in behind the bedrails from rain that is splashed up/misted while driving. I am assuming it is where the composite bed meets the metal bed rails. Can't imagine I'm the only one.

Thanks guys still trying to figure out how to navigate on the forum, @TheTacomaInn have you heard of anyone putting a RTT on a rebel, they said it couldn’t hold the weight, I also have yakama racks which someone told me couldn’t hold the weight either.

While the cap could be the culprit, almost certainly the bed is.

I had to do extensive work to get my cap/bed to stop leaking. Like 4 entire cans of silicon. And honestly.... I'm still leaking. Good thing its summer now!

Can you guys post pics of your Rebel's or point me in the direction of a thread with pictures. I know this is not the topic of the thread but I am interested in one.

@markp88 I believe you can purchase "the Sportsman" package that increases the load capacity of the cap.

@markp88 That is exactly where mine will leak. But like i said, it has to be exposed to water for a while.

Sorry for the necropost everyone, but this is EXACT place where my Rebel still leaks. Were you able to fix this leak?

I've already had mine back to the dealer twice to fix MAJOR leaking issues. After the first install, we got hit with heavy ran and I found a literal lake of water in my truck bed. Snugtop skipped one of the roof rail fasteners, and the third brake like was not water tight.

Yeah I went through a lot of this crap with my Leer. This is why I switched to a soft topper with a Dissent Off-road bed rack that fits over it. Been through monsoon rain and snow and it's been great. A small amount of water gets in when I open the back up, but that's about it. Super pleased with it's performance.
