The drain plug does not look a wrench has been on it lately. Could they exchange the fluid without removing the drain plug. There is zero oil anywhere near the pan.

Doesnt look like it, but they may suck the oil out through the dipstick. I would call and ask how they change the fluid, then when they say they drain it from the plug confront them.

If they are screwing you, I find its easy to catch them in a lie to prove they are screwing you.

My only thought is that if the plug is corroded, it would probably still be corroded when they tightened it up. They may not have abused it enough to expose shiny metal or anything.

    Better ask them
usually techs run wire brush over rusted drain plugs. If they care...

    Well that solves that part

There should be some tool marks though, or at least some residual oil (and if they cleaned the residual oil there should be a clean spot)

When they remove the plug, the plug gets covered in oil as it drains out before the plug falls the rest of the way out.

I would say, that pan or plugs have not been removed. No tool marks.

The only clean spot is where I rubbed it with a cloth to see if there was an oily film

Pretty sure they flush using input/ output hoses not straight from pan

Those bolts weren't touched, my question would be what the "transmission service kit" was.. I would think that's a new "filter" and gasket for pan, if it is they charged you and didnt change those

Nope. You get fluid on the bolts when you do service. I can't imagine any tech using a solvent to remove all transmission fluid residue.

Take a look at the transmission oil cooler lines and see if they appear to have been recently removed. The flush machine usually is performed through one of the hoses. If I was the tech performing that I'd still want to check the fluid level though.

Inconspicuous marks on bolts and lines will tell you what you need to know. Plan ahead and mark what you know or think they should be removing, also take pictures of before the visit and after so you've got proof. Sadly we can't trust anybody anymore.

No Way that there's been a wrench on either of those plugs and there would be oil residue all over the pan.
I would say no service was performed...

Yeah I painted my tranny just to double check their work. They didn't do it and I got free tint and no bullshit when I had conversations after that. Even if they did a fluid transfer at the cooler wouldn't they have to pull the overflow to double check? I guess not with techstream ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'd inquire what procedure they used and go from there.
