I have a 2013 Tacoma 4x4 crew Cab (Limited) with only 48K. I was thinking about upgrading to better shocks. I don’t do any off reading or planning on adding a lift in the near future. Just looking for a smoother ride and less roll. I was looking at Bilstein 4600s and 5100s pretty close on cost but it appears the 5100s are a little stiffer, or possibly looking at some coils with shocks which may be overkill for my use!

48k no need to do anything unless you broke a shock or spring. I just replaced my shocks and springs at 100k and I off-road my truck some.
I went with 5100’s and 884 springs. The ride is stiffer but in a more stable way when hitting bumps and potholes.

Definitely go with the 5100’s. It will give you the best bang for your money. That gives you the option of about 2.5” lift if you want but mainly it gives you a much better ride. You won’t be disappointed
