I was going to take nice photos, but I forgot my camera, so iPhone pics will do!

Here it is! Raw prototype softopper compatible bedrack!

It still needs paint, but it's raining for the next few days so that will have to wait. No need to worry about corrosion being aluminum

    Some highlights include:
    • 5052 aluminum construction
    • CAD designed
    • Accessory panels
    • 3/16" full bed rail plate that ties into OEM bed rails
    • Cutouts for Softopper Clamps
    • designed specifically for use with a Softopper

What do you all think? This is a prototype, and i'll be mounting my 186 lb. CVT Mt. Shasta Summit Series soon for some camping trips we have planned!

I'm also working on accessories for accessory panels, such as traction board mounts, hi lift mounts, and waterport mounts.

It was dead nuts square without it, plus the whole structure was within the limits that I purchase material in!

thanks! My idea is to have my own mounts and stuff, that aren't one trick ponies :)

Would that rack work with a trifold cover?

I'd need to see how the trifold is mounted, and how high the trifold comes up when being folded, but potentially yeah!

Thank you! I've spent quite a bit of time doing research and refining before I decided on this prototype. Now we'll see how this goes testing wise!

I'd probably drill a hole or weld a bracket right to the bed. The mounting system in the 1st gen beds doesn't provide a whole lot of versatility.
