    It's been like a year since I had my Sport but don't you have to hold the button for a few seconds to completely kill TRAC? I know my OR is that way but I'm 90% certain he just killed the standard engine/brake traction control mode and not the brake-only TRAC. That would exactly explain why it still worked.

    Granted, I've seen a similar test on a fully open TJ with the same outcome... I can say for certain that lifting a tire doesn't remove 100% of the torque to the other side when you're revving up like that.

    I think from my perusal of that traction control forum and the owner's manual, that on TRD off-road/pro models, placing it in low range turns regular traction control off - and requires use of ATS or MTS - but not so in the lesser variants? Would explain why his one front wheel still gripped. Toyota's traction control system is certainly complicated
