so I have an exhaust leak coming from my exhaust manifold because the studs that hold the manifold snapped off. Any ideas on how to get them off? Thanks in advance

With your manifold off how much of the stud is sticking out??

Enough to get on with a vice grip Heat and slowly work it back and forth till it comes out

just how many are broken ?

If there is a good amount of thread left, you can use two nuts and drive off the stud utilizing the double nut method. Sometimes a vise grip with good teeth will work as well. Last resort is to drill it and use extraction tool.

It is kind of rough if you can`t weld or have a machine to weld with.

An easy tack weld will do wonders but I was suggesting easier methods if OP does not have access to a welder

Soak with penetrating oil, hammer on the bolt briskly not to mushroom the bolt, but to seep in the oil , cut a slot in the end of the bolt with a hacksaw or cut off wheel, Use a properly fitting screwdriver with a wrench on the shank to turn it out or better a hand hammer struck impact screwdriver. It should come out. Sometimes a little added heat, on the head not the bolt, from a propane or Mapp torch will free it. It all depends on how much access you have to the bolts. Maybe there is still enough length to use nuts on the remnants after running a die over them? It is the manifold to head bolts right? Not the engine pipe to manifold?
