So i picked up my 2019 taco this past weekend and am itching to put a coating of rejex on her. She was built sometime in Jan 2019 so we are past 3 months which is the time i usually like to wait before the first wax/sealing. I love the stuff. Makes my life so much easier in terms of keeping my cars clean.

Anyhow, my truck came with the paint clear film. I have read the pamphlet and online and it sees to be fine to wax over it. I went so far as to call rejex and they told me it should be fine as well but try it on a not so obvious place first.

i did some googling and found this discussion:

    https://www.autogeekonline.net/foru...-paint-protective-film-preferred-sealant.html

so sealants seem to be ok. also, the products literature states that there is a clearcoat topcoat on the film and that's why you can wax over it so i suppose it's then not a porous surface- which rejex say snot to use on porous surfaces aka not smooth. The link above has what i got in my glove box with the truck.

    thoughts?

I just pulled the film off my 2016 last week, it had some water spots and was starting to form that layer of dirt that inevitably gets caught on the edges.

But to answer your question I've used a few products on it with no issues. One of them was what the OP on Autogeek was asking in Wolfgang DGPS which may be similar to Rejex. I've also had Hydro2, Hydro Blue, Beadmaker with no issues, but those later ones like pretty much all newer products they can go on any surface. If using one of the durable sealants that you hand apply and buff off, spend a good bit of time on the edges of the film since whatever you're applying will be likely thick and could be a bitch to remove if not caught early.

Could always spot check it on one of the pieces near a fender.
