For those of you who like a little visualization, here's a little Excel spreadsheet that helps you make informed changes regarding your PE EQ table, and Throttle mapping. Figured there might be some of you wanting to play around/better understand these values.

    For the Power Enrichment Tab:
    1) You'll want to copy/paste your stock (or previous PE EQ table) into Row 3. This will allow the spreadsheet to calculate the commanded AFR of your stock or previous PE EQ table and graph it.

    2) Input your desired Commanded AFR into Row 10, and your new PE EQ values will be calculated on Row 14, allowing you to copy/paste those into the table.

    3) Rinse/repeat.

For the Pedal vs. Throttle Tab:
    1) Row 1 and Row 2 convert the Accelerator position degrees to percentage. This table can be left alone and is there for visual representation in the graph.

    2) You'll want to copy/paste your stock or a previous throttle map into Row 5. This will allow the spreadsheet to convert the throttle degrees to percentage for display in the graph.

    3) Input your "optimized" throttle angle into into Row 9, and your new optimized throttle angle values will be calculated on Row 8, allowing you to copy/paste those into the table.

    3) Restraint should be taken in tuning values below ~10% throttle opening. It can make the truck overly responsive to small throttle inputs.

For those of you wishing to send me datalogs to review, please use the following channels config to ensure you're capturing all of the relevant data to make tuning decisions.

This is a departure from the default SAE parameters and using specific PID's to log at much faster sampling speeds than the individually polled SAE parameters.

Save this file to: Documents\HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\Channel Configs

Then, open up your VCM Scanner and go to the "Channels" tab. Open this config file and collect your data per usual. You'll have to reconfigure your graphs and charts for these new PID's.

Ive always wondered if there were better torque converters and such available for our trucks. even posted here a couple times about it but never got an answer. I just think something isn't right with mine with the weird vibes I get. I think I have lockup vibes around 1700 to 2200, which nothing has fixed.. But I also thing there is another issue causing vibration at anything over about 2800 rpm.. its kinda odd. up around 4k in gear I can play with the throttle and notice sound and feel changes in it for split seconds in between load and no load, sometimes I think the two are related. But that's a different topic.

Just some varied driving with a little WOT just to verify all is well there too. If you have an area you'd like to work on, we can pay closer attention to those conditions on a follow up log, to ensure we're capturing what we need. But think of this as just a general health check-up.

Do a little driving like you normally do, and then a little driving like I normally do and that should cover most of the driving scenarios.

When it shifts from 4th to 5th it would sometimes rev up a bit after shifting out of 4th but before shifting into 5th.

I had various vibrations that all went away after switching to a Tom Woods one piece driveshaft. @ThomasMore66 had some vibrations that went away after replacing his valve body with a heavy duty version from an Australian outfit. There have also been discussions about solving some vibrations through changing of transmission mounts, different pinion angles and ECGS front diff bushing.

yeah ive researched all that stuff and tried a few different things.. adjusted the lockup solenoid. did some drains and flushes, replaced mounts. This seems all directly related to engine and rpms/load.. nothing else. its weird. The high rpm one does it just revving the motor above 2800. this is stuff that has held me back from doing anything to the truck.

General releases are EVEN numbers (eg. 4.0, 4.2, 4.4)
Beta releases are ODD numbers (eg. 4.1, 4.3, 4.5)

General releases, usually only contain critical bugfixes as such is rarely updated after launch.
Beta releases contain all new features, minor bugfixes, new parameters etc. and is updated at least daily.

We create a new General release from the previous Beta release. eg. 4.4.x General is created from 4.3.x Beta, at the same time (or soon after) we create a new Beta train in this case 4.5.x

So the bottom line is that often for new platforms (such as Toyota) customers will find themselves using Beta release to keep up with latest features and bugfixes. Once these platforms mature (not that we ever really stop development for any platform) customers will trend towards the General release train.
