Mega Newbie, 2019 Tacoma, long bed, Cement, 4x4, Off road.

    What do I mean by Mega Newbie? I have always owned a truck but it's always been a stock 2wd Ford used to drive to work and haul stuff. Earlier this year there was a major unwanted change in my life. I decided to change many other things. I'm new to Toyota, new to 4wd, new to off road and I'm even going to try Over Landing. I'm not ready to do bush wacking but I will try to do BLM, Corps of Engineers, public land camping.
    I found this site the day I bought my Tacoma in early April, so far I have learned a lot and also have some worries/concerns.
    I see all these trucks all kitted out to Overland with steel bumpers, undercarriage armor, racks, shells and roof top tents to name a few. I have done the math and it seems all this equipment far exceeds the vehicle's weight rating.
    Is anybody concerned about this?
    I know you can add shocks, springs etc, but as far as I know the frame's weight rating cannot be changed.
    I'm glad to be here and I realized that I have a lot more to learn.
    Lastly a lot of the members throw out many abbreviations, but you have to realize us newbies do not know most of them. Is there a list of abbreviations on the site? It would be nice to have one.
