2nd Generation Tacoma rear cab 3rd brake light upgrade to bed light

I have a 2013 Tacoma Crew cab which has the OEM 3rd Brake Light over the rear bed on the back of the Cab. I noticed newer years went to a rear bed light to replace the stock 3rd brake light. Does anyone know what years Tacoma went to this rear bed light upgrade (possibly not until 2018) and is it possible to upgrade to a later year bed light? Thanks

You can only use the 3rd gen access cab brake light. IIRC it's only red. @MESO is making replacement 3rd brake housings for 2nd (all cabs models)/3rd gen access cab using KC or BD lights. You can use white and red or whatever you want for the lights.
