Ok, everyone who voted on the poll should have been PM'd by now, if not, PM me.

Again, because a shocking number of people haven't noticed... This is for DUAL CAB SECOND GEN tacomas only.

Please share with friends and post around, it would be great to get the volume discounts and everything for everyone!

Because this is apparently a big deal, there is a "mock up" currently 3D printing.

Final version will be in solid 1/4inch ABS.

Ok, so.... Hopefully this helps anyone on the fence over the wind shield.

Please disregard the quality and the fact that its just quick clamped on there. THIS IS ONLY a 3D printed mock up. The final part will be machined from a solid block of high impact ABS.

This is only to give a visual example. Also note the final version will be a couple inches further forward as the final rack will be 2 inches longer.

How does that mount on? Any chances of wind picking it up and blowing off lol your doing great though so I doubt it but excited to see final version!

Bolts on from the underside and actually registers with the grove in the front cross bar to lock in, so wind actually locks it in tighter!

Thanks... Pretty discouraged how few people have placed orders considering the original responses, but apparently 20+ people didn't realize it was for second gen only...

    Oh well!

If anyone is on the fence, the first 10 orders will get free shipping ($60 saving) and $30 off their order, as well as the free corner brackets!

That would make a standard with wind panel $520 delivered.

Really expected more of a response than we've had considering the number of votes in the poll, the PMs and general curiosity. It's the best value modular rack on the market by far.

I put a lot of work into making this a commercial level product and I'm thrilled with how it's turned out. If you've got anything holding you back let me know!

Personally I am very interested- just got hit with some expensive vet bills that have taken priority. I hope to order when I can!

Edit: Product looks great. I think once you sell a few and people post install photos and details, purchases will spike.

Totally understand that! If you can't make it happen before the end of the group buy, PM me and we'll work you into the deal any time :)

Don't be discouraged. Its a cool product. I think it looks great. Im a bit stuck waiting for a custom cap I ordered over a 14 months ago. So i have money tied up and if im honest that and one other order i made just before that (newish product) the guy shut down his business. So im a little jumpy to spend the extra. I do think its cool and i am interested but timing is bad because id like to match the cab rack with the rack on the cap. (Assuming i actually get it).

Everyone is going to have their own situation. Don't be discouraged though. Most people do stuff like this for years before they are an overnight success.

I would highly recommend not using ABS. It will has poor UV resistance and will quickly degrade.

There are specific blends of ABS with better UV resistance, I've been using parts made with it outdoors for years without issues.

How are the front and rear bars attached? From what I can see in the pictures posted, you're using single bolt corner brackets. I'd be worried about the front and rear bars rotating, since they're only attached on one side. You may want to something like an internal inside-outside connector for the front/rear bars to lock them on both sides. Internal inside-inside connectors would also be more streamlined than the external brackets shown in the pictures.

Are you worried about any future issues with the mounts from moisture absorption since polycarbonate is hydrophilic?

Not surprising at all. You always get a ton of people that say they're interested, but 90% disappear as soon as it's time to pay up.

1: yeah, well spotted, in the quick version I put together there are no flat plate brackets to stop rotation because they're missing in the mail, it would normally have them though.

2: not really, no, though it was a testing consideration. I've been using this stuff for years in literally wet environments and at a point it really stops absorbing moisture. We soaked some test brackets in a bucket for a week and compared tensile and compressive strength and the difference was negligible.

    3. Oh I know. I've been doing this a while, and I expected most people to flake, but holy crap the number of people who didn't realize it was for second gens, or LITERALLY someone didn't realize it was for a Tacoma.... That was annoying.

    Good to know.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the general masses are typically dumb as fuck.

You should consider developing an access cab version. Prinsu is the only option, so an option cheaper or on par price wise should sell well. Also, since the main frame is all extruded 80/20, an option to just buy the mounts, fairing, and/or sides would probably sell well, too.

Just wanted to be sure you were aware of the risk.

It's awfully cheap to machine aluminum these days. That would be my preference for the roof attachment points.
