I just like to mod and make it better than oem which is not hard to do at reduced savings.
Plus you get to know your truck.

This thread has nothing to do with you or the mods you like. OP made it clear what we wants and asked for advice.

Reduced savings? You don’t like to save money?

7k for the same truck in a different color is a gigantic waste of money, pure and simple. C'mon now, how are you even considering this.

If you really have to do this because you feel bad, then so be it. Go do it and don't look back and the sun will still come up and the earth will still be round, etc. But it's a stupid way to light your money on fire.

I am about an hour from Tahoe and usually get a season pass for Northstar. I don’t live in the snow, but I drive in it often enough.

You should be able to get the SR5 down to 30-31k before TTL with that rebate.

Just a thought, what if you sold the 16 outright and then purchase a 19, that could save you maybe another $4-5k. Unless this 19 is just something special to you, I would guess that there will another one out there.

As I get older, I love brighter headlights when driving at night, I believe that a 2020 SR5 will get you LED headlights, someone please correct this if I am wrong.

As said before, it’s your life and your money, so do what feels right.

Wrong, they will just keep selling them at record numbers.

I just traded my '16 a few weeks ago for a '19. Went from a TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB to a TRD Off Road AC. I've been contemplating on trading for some time and finally pulled the trigger. My main reason was to get the Access Cab since I didn't really need the Double Cab and gives me a little more room in my garage too. I pulled all my mods off and had the dealership swap back to the OEM wheels because I was running the stock rubber with aftermarket wheels.

As for the transmission, my '19 drives a lot better than my '16. Never got the 2nd TSB done on my '16 so I don't know if that's why my '19 feels better. I had the dealership check the transmission fluid before I took it home (they kept it over the weekend) and fluid checked fine. I don't like that it said "Inspected transmission fluid level, okay at this time" on the service ticket so I might check it myself down or try to get it checked at another dealership. The driveshaft on my '19 was greased, but there's only the front zerks now, the rear is sealed. I still have to check my diffs and transfer case because those were a little low on my '16.

I haven't been keeping up and only found out about the '20 about a week and a half ago. If I would've known, I would've waited, but I still have no regrets.

Well I did the deal to and had the same experience. That being said I had both TSB's done the truck I got was another SR most of the stuff people mentioned on the 20's have are on the higher trims. My new one wasn't in for a trip to Arkansas, so I put an extra 3400miles on it. Through the hills I noticed the trans completely disengage going down some of the steep roads in the back roads and had a normal vibration in the drive shaft, both were low and dry for the 1st 2500 miles biggest reason was trans issues I was experiencing when entering interstates I was noticing considerable slippage that was determined "normal" 3xs .

Not everyone has the same 'needs' as you do.

Some of us do just fine with a totally stock truck. Mine only has 5 lugs and yet it manages to do everything I want it to.
