What are the laws in Texas about having mud flaps on your vehicle cuz this morning I did some roadside off-roading and when I was driving on the street is throwing mud everywhere and then a sheriff pulled me over and said I supposed to have mud flaps on my vehicle

This is what they get you on
    (i) A flexible safety guard or flap may swing upwards and backwards while the vehicle is moving, so long as the safety guard or flap continues to block the trajectory of slush, mud, gravel, and other roadway material or debris which would otherwise be transmitted to the windshield of a following vehicle while both vehicles are in motion.

Technically, the basis of the requirements are duallies and large trucks, but when the tires exceed the width of the body, I have seen and heard of folks getting stopped - probably especially for throwing stones!

Does not matter what the vehicle is, you can get a ticket for trajectory of slush, mud, gravel, and other roadway material or debris which would otherwise be transmitted to the windshield of a following vehicle while both vehicles are in motion.

That was my especially point for him! And it's not usually wise to discuss "intent" of the law with the man enforcing it!

my point is you see all these Jeeps driving around with the tires nowhere near the body but yet they never leave the street so they never get nothing in their tires to throw

So my guess is the law only applies if you're breaking it so if my vehicle requires mud flaps and I don't have them but I never go anywhere where I need mud flaps and I don't then the law doesn't apply

    Awesome!

Have used them for a number of things.
I have never suffered from long wait times.
From what i hear it is not uncommon.

And yes, Amazon will spoil you.

Didn't realize they were that close.

All I know is that everything they have their name on has an elevated cost to go along with it.

You are not REQUIRED to have mudflaps on a single tire, rear wheel vehicle, but you are PROHIBITED from throwing your off road debris while on the road. Even though the law quoted is a requirement for the vehicle type stated, you collecting all that crap and depositing on the road and other vehicles would most likely get you a ticket'; "reckless endangerment " of others or something. Listen to Matt, if you are going to do your ditch diving, then get back on the road.

Hey Hover! glad you got good use of it - sure got on the good end of that trade with @MattCowsmasher - curious as to how long those new chargeable batteries worked? Did you use it "plugged it", or outside the truck on batts. They were supposed to provide "12 hours" use!

I always kept it plugged in, outside of the truck was usually 3-4 hours of use.

That's kinda what I a curious about, because the plug is a charger, but if you spend a lot of time outside the truck, I bought a size that should do better than 3 - 4 hours. Figuring my use would be helping outside. Glad it helped him out for sure!
