Clutch squeaks?

I have had ongoing issues with two different squeaks.

First is in the pedal mechanism where the bushing wears out. I have had it replaced but it keeps coming back. I have thought about changing the spring out for a different type but haven't seen any long terms followups.

Has anybody had issues from long term use of a normal brake return type spring?

Second is underneath the truck. At first I though it was where the slave meets the clutch fork but white lithium grease didnt help. So I also lithium greased where the fork pivot is. It seems to have worked but now with the truck warmed up its back in full force.

Any suggestions on what else I can do?? How much is too much on that pivot? ( I don't want an issue with too much grease in the clutch housing)

I have squeak #2 also. I was able to stop it momentarily with WD-40... There was a rubber boot I pulled back and soaked it. It's been awhile and it's raining now so I can't go out and look at what exactly it was. The squeak came back in like a week.

 

Mine was squeaking. I sprayed it with WD40 and it lasted about 2 weeks. I then sprayed it with some PB Blaster Garage Door Lube. It has lasted about 2 months and no more squeaks.

 

WD40 attracts dirt. Dont use it. Use white lithium grease.

 

I tried that but I dont think it got down far enough in the pivot.

 

^^ X2 - I used white lithium grease and the squeak has been gone for over a year and a half.

 

Where are you exactly spraying this?

I just pulled that boot back and sprayed to where I thought the ball is on the pivot

I actually saw those pics but it didnt really help. I pulled the black boot back (where the pink mark on the tranny) and shot the white lithium about halfway down the clutch fork.

 

That is exactly what I did and it worked for me. Maybe try again? I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but are you sure the squeak is coming from the tranny? I had a squeak from both the tranny and the clutch pedal assembly. You may want to get a set of ears under the truck as you push in the clutch to make sure it's coming from the tranny.

 

Yea I had my Fiancee push in the clutch while I went under the truck and listened.

No problem.. I actually have one under the dash too.
