The same era as the Thunderbird Super Coupe which was equally as unique with a factory Eaton supercharged and intercooled 3.8L V6. Had a few of them before the Tacoma. All of them 5-speed manuals. Fun cars!

They were lackluster, but my experience with GM's 2.8L, and 3.1L V6 engines from the 80s-90s was always that they were super reliable.

I'm a fan of I6's. Best one by far is Honda's CBX engine.1979 Honda CBX.jpg

    My take:

    The S14 BMW M3

    The VW 2.0 8 valve

    The M20 BMW

    The Honda D16 and D15

    The Toyota 3.4

    The 3.0 911SC Porsche engine

90-93 Honda Accord engines they made (3) variants for the US market

VW aircooled boxer fours were legendary in an underpowered kind of way. BMW motorcycle aircooled boxer twins are legendary.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Almost forgot the Olds Rocket V8 engine, that in 1949, brought the GM muscle car, and then in 1951, Rock and Roll music.

This one went down in history as the first Rock and Roll song.
