    Groupbuy is officially closed!

Alright, so here's where we stand on the firepit. After taking a look at everything, the price for a stainless steel 11gauge firepit got up there. So we set the idea aside and Jim was able to coordinate a group buy through Southern Xpeditions (@dcoursler).

Somebody posted the firepit on here already, but the one Derrick (Southern Xpeditions) makes is pretty similar to what I had in mind. It's slightly smaller and made with mild steel, but comes with a cooking grate and carrying case. Overall, it should work quite nicely :bananadance:

It retails at $289 but Derrick is offering a pretty big discount if we can get at least 20 pits ordered. He can ship them individually, but shipping would be roughly $35-$45 because of the weight. For those living near Seattle, we could have them shipped together and distribute them afterwards to save on s&h.

I'll be PM'ing everyone that was interested with the pricing. If anyone else would like to jump in on the group buy, PM me for pricing and any questions you may have. Once the final order is placed, the lead time would be roughly 2-4 weeks.

As cool as it was, having the TacomaWorld logo cut into the firepit isn't possible. Going to take down the poll to avoid any further confusion and we'll stick with the stock logo that Southern Xpeditions offers.

Final order will be placed on Sunday May 19th. So let me know by Sunday afternoon if you want in!

    More information from Derrick:
    https://www.southernxpeditions.com/swag/firepit
That is the product, it is the Pack Flat Firepit. It is 7ga Mild Steel, MIL scale coating left in tact, the firepits are cut on a fiber optic laser to ensure the cuts are clean and require zero cleanup. They are cut here in the USA in NC and the bags are handmade by Blue ridge Overland Gear in Bedford, VA. The bag is PVC truck tarp on the inside so it doubles as a firewood sling when the firepit is setup(so you're not carrying around logs like we have always done).

It is a 4 piece design firepit with the 12x12 cooking grate provided as well. I most times will put a small amount of charcoal in the bottom of the firepit, add a few pieces of wood and cook my steak or whatever it is I am doing on the grill that night and when done just put logs on top of the charcoal and you now have a roaring fire.

It packs down to about 1” tall with the bag so it can fit virtually anywhere.

Wrong. No comparison there. Complicated, thin, lower quality metals. Jim's and those that most closely resemble his are in a total different class. Made for those that understand life long durability and usefulness.

Not really. Never seen the product before but I'm sure many companies offer something similar. I couldn't find anything that was sized or built how I wanted.

Jim makes a bunch of cool shit in his garage and offered to help make me one. A few other people expressed interest so instead of mucking up the general NW BS thread I made this. Besides, would definitely prefer to support a local guy with my money.

I'd be interested in one, I've wanted something like that since I saw the Stahl Firepit but that's a bit rich for my blood. I'll be up in the Seattle area in July and August for work and could pick it up

I forgot to write down the dimensions before I left but it was something like 2' long, 20" high, and 20 wide. Big enough to have a couple normal sized fire logs in it.

I'm working on getting a price point together currently. Are there any features that would be interesting, other than the obvious cooking grate? Any deal breakers?

Thoughts on a door on one of the sides to allow more air/put in kindling?
