    Crossing the North Platte river at Ft Steele east of Rawlins. The Big Boy was having mechanical problems so the Living Legend #844 was doing all the work.

    So...your doing like a light bar off the back?

    I can tell you the wind drag will super suck. But whatever.

    I used the 500s. I stick with those, plenty bright and the 700s will be so big that it'll cause even more drag. Though didn't you finally go to 5.29s?

    I used the DDM tunning 55w kit, was the raptor ones back in the day as they were metal housings. But don't think they make those anymore. You can still use the the Hi/Lo since yeah you can't get just a high H4 anymore. Just wire up the High only.

    Either kit will likely work. You can run all 4 off of one relay though so I wouldn't buy two harnesses, 55w/12.4v=4.43ampsx4=17.4amps total at hopefully the lowest voltage. So a 30amp relay is plenty. You'll likely have to build your own though anyways as you'll have to run cabling a long ways to get to the bed and up the roof. Make sure you use big enough wire from the relay, 14ga minimum.

    The light bar part will fold down so it's even with the roof. No I did not go 5.29s lol. I replaced my fucked up motor and bought a winch Instead lol
    The hid housing was metal? Bummer they don't make them. Plastic will be a durable su stitute? Or should I go with something else? 14ga to the bed, 30amp relay. Gotcha

    There Are a ton of bulbs...h4 hi/lol or a different kind?

    yeah but the housing was twice as big. The plastic ones should be fine.

    Good, folding is best.

    And 14ga only for the lights. If you're planning on running power to the bed, the splitting off to power multiple things, you should run at least 8ga to to bed or 4ga depending on what your plan is.

    Keep in mind too that HIDs generate a lot of RF and electrical noise, so I wouldn't have them share power with any radios at all.

    Three pieces of flat stock welded together, for 4Runner roof rack brackets/feet.

    Needed two holes to mount the cross bars, and two for the feet to attach to the roof rails. After being sure that I had them oriented correctly, I drilled each set of holes on the wrong leg of the bracket...

    The mrs. said, "at least it's metal, you couldn't have made the wood grow back."

    not bad. Id get a 7D if I was you though probably. And all new glass. Just me replacing my 18-135mm...WOW big difference. Our lenses just get beat to shit and they are cheap..

    Looks a bit warped, could be the photo haha Or by design..

    Yeah metal is generally forgiving in that way. At least mid steel projects like this haha what roof rack are you putting on?

    The build has already Started I see..even has a thread now..haha

    I'm building an aluminum (except for the feet) rack, so we can put the tent up there. Then, @mini will sleep in the back.

    Probably just the photo that makes it look warped. All the paint boiling and burning off when I filled in the holes.

    gotcha. Well those would be on their own circuit so yeah.

    It would just be a better upgrade. Still a crop but better features. Really the 80 would be fine, but im sure its replacement is right around the corner anyways.

    And not like L glass. Get a 18-135 and call it a day. At least the lenses will be in aligment correctly haha

    A6500 has been tempting due to it's light weight and size. But I'd miss the buttons as I shoot full manual mostly.

    Yeah I just got sick of AV mode fucking up shit. Super easy to dial in shutter and aperture with just two fingers. Try to leave aperture alone for the most part.

    Yeah same here. I use my phone a bit but always glad I have my camera. I just never seem to have time to edit anything anymore.

    I'm also a little warry of Sony stuff just from our experiences at work with the a7sII. Doesn't like drastic temp changes. Also don't love the screens you have to look through all the time. Pros and cons.
