I called and left a message at KOA Woodstock for Friday night. I'm still thinking Tripoli road in one of the Giant fields is still our best bet. I can deff grab a spot there Thursday evening and enjoy some day hikes Friday. I'll be up there this weekend so I'll have a better idea of what is a available.

Update KOA 3 day min that weekend

There is a local camp ground up my way that I am going to try to get to this week to see if they can handle us. It’s right on the Saco River

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I know my CB allows me to listen to two channels at once. We could listen to 19 and talk amoungst the group on another channel if this is a common feature. This way we could hear what the truckers are saying, but we won’t interfere with them. I have no idea if this is a typical feature, but my cheap cobra 75 has it.

I don’t expect too much truck traffic on the weekend, but I would guarantee that, just my experience the times I have been up there.

Still enough where I wouldn't want to flood Ch 19 with chatter, just in case.. If people are wiling to pick up a cheap FRS handheld radio, that would be ideal in my mid. But certainly not a requirement

I'm certainly going to it can be used on the truck and wheelers. Which do you run, would like something reputable that's going to last.
I have a BF-F8HP but cannot transmit yet still learning and studying. Couldn't hurt have 3 comms in the truck in the future.

Heres a quick report from the trip up there this weekend:
All the big roads are open and passable, but they are super rough and large washouts / frost heaves / sinkholes are common (no good pics of the sinkholes). Probably will be better by the end of this month.
Some of the smaller roads are passable, others are still harboring a foot or two of snow. Nothing impassable, but have the Maxtrax and snatch strap ready. Again, probably not an issue for this trip.
The NMW checkpoints are still closed at present, but I would expect them to be open by the time this trip happens.
Dust is already bad in certain areas, so prior planning with dedicated rally points and good comms will be important in case people get spread out.
Bugs are just starting to come out. Bring bug spray

Naturally I had to park in the river

There are cheaper alternatives at places like Walmart too.
