Carbon fiber is a conductor mate, likely a similar finish.

So.. I called Snap On for shits and giggles to see what kind of warranty I had on my screwdriver shaft. Since I first used it I noticed the bits are fairly difficult to remove. Yesterday I had a different bit installed and it was practically fucking stuck.

Was able to get it out with some Channel Locks, but looked into the tip and noticed some of the metal seems rolled over in spots and uneven thicknesses on the 6 sides. Put a bit in today, and it’s fucking jammed in there again.

2 minutes on the phone with the incredible nice customer service agent at the corporate mothership and they’re sending me a new shaft. $55 part!

I’m super happy. I’ve heard hits and misses with SO, and it may be founded.. but this is the second time I’ve dealt with corporate directly and both times have exceeded expectations.

I’ve found that more often than not the attitude of the one in need has a great deal to do with allot of situations. I call knowing it’s not the fault of the person going to speak with so I don’t take my frustrations out on them. I’ve been able to exchange many non-warrantied items by just being polite to the one that I’m interacting with.

I seem to recall mine being tight as a goddamn 12 yo when I first got it. But with experience, it came to understand the give and take required to develop a loving relationship.

    God that's fucked up.

    Good lord.

Should’ve put the floor jack on top instead. What a noob.

Ordered the Snap On soft grip ratcheting stubby yesterday night direct off the SO website. Got shipping notification today, delivery Tuesday.

Again.. I don’t know how things go wrong with their business dealings unless it’s bad truck owners.

Also ordered the correct, shorter shaft my full size would normally come with. So in total for both, with the extra (brand new) non-con shaft I’m in $209 for the pair.

2 thoughts come to mind.. first, what the fuck.

Second.. no ragrets. Not a single one.

Well I've had mine for at least 25 years, never a hiccup, always my go-to driver. So look at it from a dollars per year perspective. The longer you have it, the cheaper it will get.
