I'm driving myself crazy researching these covers. I'm pulling the trigger on one of these today. Cost is similar so I'm not hung up on that and it will be professionally installed. Ultra flex comes with a LED light and a sidebag but you lose the cargo rail capability. Also has a 5 year warranty. Bakflip has a 3 year warranty and you keep use of the cargo rail. If anyone has advice or suggestions let them fly!

I would look at the Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite hard cover. Vastly superior mounting plus you can use your cargo rails and can open from front or rear which is a big plus. Also, I would install yourself as most installers use kids and you will probably have to redo to make it fit probably and is not hard to install. You have to drill no holes with the G4 unless you utilize the tailgate lock then you have to drill 2 small holes on the inside of the tailgate but most with locking tailgates don't need this feature. They have extensive parts breakdowns so no problem getting new seals 10 years down the road . I looked at the rest and after many days of thought bought this one and extremely happy with purchase . The only downside is that to remove it you have to remove 4 small bolts and need 2 people to lift it off. - My 2 cents worth

The two covers you mention are made by the same company - Truck Hero. I had an Undercover Flex on a prior truck and was not impressed by the build quality. I have a Bak Revolver X2 now. Good quality, and roll up feature lets you see out the back window when cover is rolled up. Tends to freeze up in extreme cold however. Side rails get moved down about 2".

Agree with second poster - install yourself. Not hard, and I don't believe many installers take great care to install anyways.

Thanks for the replies. I went with the BakFlip MX4. Very happy with it Appears to be well built. The cargo rails were lowered so I have full use of them. Removing the entire cover is simple. 2 T bolts and its off. Not sure that will ever happen as the entire cover can fold up and ride in that position. I'll post back after some rain and more use.

Can you post some pictures of the rail relocation?

I currently have an undercover armor flex on my 2nd gen and the only complaint I have is that I lost use of the rails and tiedowns. Getting a 3rd gen soon and I may go with something that retains that use.

I've got the Bakflip G2 and so far have no complaints. It does leak some however that's not an issue for me.

Bakfilp supplies brackets that lower the rails down around 2". Again this isn't an issue for me but I suppose it could be for some. Installation is simple and took me around an hour.

I too went with the BakFlip MX4, and had it professionally install less than an hour after taking delivery of my Silver Taco. I originally wanted to get the Diamondback SE cover, and then walked it back to considering the Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite (which I might have pulled the trigger on had it been an option at the shop I visited). The BakFlip was reasonably priced, and I was out of the shop within 2 hours. It looks and functions really well, but I will hold final judgements until after 60 days of use.

My MX4 is leaking pretty bad. I have an appointment with the installer and they will water test etc. Even the installer said its leaking way more than it should as a little water can be expected.

I'm sorry to hear that! We are a dealer for BAK and I actually have the MX4 on my personal truck as well - Highly recommended product. BAK Industries usually takes care of their customers very well so if there's anything that needs to be replaced they should get you set up. Good luck!
