It's good it's not running lean now, not sounding as cool is a small price to pay for a healthier running system. Lean numbers can exponentially shorten your engines lifespan

Is only running the 3.0 pulley so it made just about 5 or a little under. Maybe 4? I'll keep checking on it throughout the week. I'm going to look at the afe cold air intake as mentioned by @loginfailed one I manage to get the new ecu with trd flash out days online that is compatible with the charger while k&n doesn't say. It's just a thing out here in Hawaii to run ONLY k&n cai and nothing else. Lame

I completely agree, I'm just grumbling lol. I did notice slight power loss at low end with torque and acceleration but like you said small price to pay for security atm. I'm happy I'm seeing good changes. Now to change a few more things.

I wanna say mahalo nui loa to all of you for throwing in your assistance I really love this page, the people on the lexus forum are dicks

    Here though, most definitely not

Honestly is just one of those standard things out here like cowboys and cigarettes haha. I personally was looking at other options more suited for this motor and with the charger on. First things first I want to get the current issues dealt with before I go upgrading the previous owners choices

I would just run the OEM paper filter...I used to have one of those AEM ProDry filters and the amount of fine dirt that would get behind it on the intake was disturbing. Never get any dirt behind the filter anymore with the OEM paper filters.

Then again I have a 1st gen which only has one air filter, I think you guys have two right?

The AFe intake with the Donaldson filter keeps things really clean and doesn’t restrict flow too badly.

I have proven multiple times that the stock intake airbox is a restriction over other intakes.

I hate K&N, but it is probably much less restrictive over the stock airbox honestly. The 2.85 pulley requires no additional tuning. Ever.

I was looking at getting one from urd but they are sold out :( guys I'll keep looking elsewhere.

Also definitely way less restrictive but I have a drop in filter from k&n in the airbox rn so it's better than oem

Gadget at urd ran an xrunner onna dyno with the stock intake.
He then removed the secondary/charcoal filter and ran the truck again.
Then he removed the air filter in the stock airbox and dynoed it.

Zero gains even with absolutely no filter in the tract.

The restriction is in the actual intake, most likely due to the baffles/silencer chambers, and less than optimum bends.

The restriction is not at the filter it is after the filter. It is at the airbox assembly. There is too many kinks and rough plastic back there which creates turbulence and disturbs the airflow from moving correctly.

The URD filter and the AFe style air cleaner assemblies are the least restrictive of the bunch.

Hi all. I'm having a similar issue with my 2011 with 2.5 pulley,TRD CAI, DT long tubes,255 Deatswerk pump and ornge virus tune. So it just started last month I noticed that it was running lean for a fee seconds at cruise speeds above 75-80mph. Cruising under that speed I would see afr @ 14.2-14.3. So around 75 up I notice the afr spike up to 15.1-15.3 for a few seconds. Any Idea what would cause that? Never had that problem. Ive changed the external fuel filter a few days ago and cleaned the maf.

Last year while cruising on the highway (no boost) I was noticing AFR's in the 14.0 - 14.3 range (never hitting 14.5-14.7 like normal)...a week or so later I threw a P0136 code (bad rear O2 sensor). Changed that out with a new one and my cruising AFRs returned to normal

Thanks I'll give that a shot. For about 2 years I was running real rich and can smell the gas. Truck is 208xxx miles boosted @42xxx
