I did look at the Kimbo, on YouTube anyway not in person obviously. They look sweet but lawd they’re huge... they wouldn’t fit down our east coast trails (IMHO) but yes they look sweet.

They also don’t “look” as durable to me, though I could be completely wrong. Same with the 4WH campers. The Khaya seems rugged enough that it could handle small arms fire lol..., time will tell. In truth the Khaya seems like a luxury GFC, still a pop up wedge which I’ve really grown to love. The wedge design seems to be superior in strength and setup time to me so hopefully I have the same experience with this one.

From the GFC page. Just covers up the extrusion on the front.

Yes the Khaya is definitely a sturdy looking setup. How do you deal with the weight though? Regear? More suspension?

I want a kimbo for xmas! Lol imagine that sitting in nyc?

A Kimbo in NYC??? Lol I’d think you’d better find a place to park out in the ‘Burbs... start Über-ing to work.

As far as handling the weight. The OK4WD truck and the guys from Mountain State Overland run the Heavy OME leaf packs, Air Bags, and Daystar Cradles. The Khaya comes off with Jack Stands so if you set up leafs for 1200lbs all the time than when you take it off it’s not so good.

Yes to gears. 4.88’s and I think the OVTune is in my future as well hopefully that’s it.

Here are all the GFC accessories currently available. I’d contact them see if you can purchase now and have them put it on for you when you pick it up. But ultimately that’s something you and GFC need to work out.

My mom taught me the same lesson apparently.

“If you don’t have anything nice to say....”

Hey whatever like i said there’s room for everyone and to each his (or her) own.... plus the more innovation the more every company gets better. I will say the interior of these things is nice. Like a cabin on wheels!!!!

Getting back on topic with GFC’s they still makes a pretty useful hauling truck when properly equipped. This little Skiff is being delivered tomorrow, no longer have room in the garage.

Sounds good. I got sumo springs and need to install them as I dont think my bp51 and medium ome springs are able to hold the GFC when fully loaded. I got that work done a ok4wd.

Oh and "hopefully that's it" doesn't really work once you have a Tacoma. Lol.

Has anyone come up with a track t nut solution for the extruded side rails other then the ones GFC sells?

A carriage bolt (possibly with some grinding) might work, but it might also harm the extrusion depending on torque, load, and burrs.

Why not just go with the GFC ones? Compared to other similar T nuts, theirs are a very good deal? $13 for 4 is pretty stellar.

it was a timing thing. I just ordered the GFC ones and will work it out. Looking at the extrusion it would be hard to find something quick that would work.

Has anyone here considered a custom color? I have been searching IG for examples but only found a couple. Any others out there? I really like the red and blue frames. Trying to decide if I like it enough to pay $500 extra.

I seriously considered it but decided to go with the standard gray. If the panels stopped the colored bars from peeking through where the panels don’t touch, I may have gone for a custom bar color.

The reason I didn’t is because you will see whatever color your bars are from the outside (header/front bar, rear bar, and then the peeking bars). All the colors I wanted didn’t look right when I tried to mock it up. But that was just my opinion.

I kind of like that you can see the color of the bars peeking through the panel. Especially the blue. Still can't decide though.
