Here’s how mine is built, I like it for the most part. It’s heavy as shit and I had a lot of banging when I’d hit a bump. The whole swing arm would jump up and slam down. It was super annoying so I added a small tab below the latch to stop it.

Nice! I like how the latch attaches to the bumper. I think that's how I will do mine do I only have to worry about squaring up the hinge side to the bumper. The rounded steel doesn't have to be square, just level and in line with the latch. Thanks!

Yeah it’s pretty simple and that’s cool. I added the center upright so I could mount the 2” receiver for my bike rack.

Shit. Forgot about that. Anyone know what kind of connection the camera uses?

It is the OEM camera, I did it the way Pelfrybilt used to do it... I bought a factory tailgate harness and spliced it in. Requires cutting the factory pigtail off but it’s no big deal. I have taken the swing out off and I can still use it in the factory location fine. https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~wire~tail~gate~no~82182-04020.html

These things aren't as beefy as I was expecting...

They're way more beefy. They're the whole damn bull!

Now I need a bigger welder. I wonder if I can rent one or something? One of those big ass Lincoln Electric self contained generator/welders or something. As much as I'd love to run 220 to the garage, I'm not planning on staying there much longer.

Spent half my life living in it. There is a lot to be said about it just the sheer vastness an freedom to roam is a big advantage. Also almost O allergy flare ups as well for most people.
