Well, Kink has exceeded my expectations! I was getting a little nervous there that she would never be able to cope with the boy well. I figured they'd probably just learn to tolerate each other but the past 2 days they've been bonding a bit. We hit the 3 week mark yesterday and I couldn't be happier with their progress. He's started to mellow out a little bit this week which I think has been helping a bit; she's playful but he is just an all out spaz 24/7 and it seemed to annoy her a bit, lol. She's been trying to play with him and hasn't shown any signs of territorial aggression in almost a week now. I have them in the house roaming around together without supervision for the first time right now (I'm in the game room with the door closed, listening) and it feels good to not have to breathe down their necks all the time anymore.
The bottom picture is Jet's first time seeing the neighborhood tom cat, which was very exciting for him. I'm really excited to have a sociable cat; Kink doesn't like anybody and some of our visitors are sad they don't get to see a cat when they come out to the house. Hopefully he can teach her a thing or two ;)

I always love catching up on all the kitty photos in this thread!

If you havent invested in a Furminator brush yet, do so now! OMG! I can pull a whole new cats worth of hair of each of mine. Its SO good, that I have to do it outside on the porch because of all the hair.

Does it scratch the skin? I had good one for Cheech but it would get a lil too deep and bring up a bunch of skin flakes and leave the poor giy sensitive, itchy and flakey. Had to dry bath him so he didnt look like he was caught in a blizzard.

It can. Of the 4, they all love the brush, only one gets flakey skin. Ive added some oil from the vet to his food and hes good to go now. I dont think its the brush that causes it, but the underlying dryness of the skin.

    Is the oil prescription only?

I just give a couple pumps on top of the dry food. I have four cats and they’re free-fed.

The gray one, Mew, is 10 and slightly over weight. The orange one, Jellybean, is 19, deaf, toothless, has a hyperactive thyroid and has been like this for the last 5 years. He gets semi annual checkups and bloodwork, and continues to be active, happy and loves life.
