The first episode of the new season, now on the Travel Channel, examines evidence of Vikings in the Desert Southwest. Scott Wolter meets up with three area experts to see evidence that Vikings traveled as far as Arizona, and the coasts of Baja California.

As I have been to the petroglyph site many times for over 45 years, Scott had me show him the rock art 250 miles south of San Diego that many believe could show a Viking ship. The site dates to the years 1000-1500, before the Spanish explorers sailed off Mexico.

It was a fun time to see how a TV show is made. We traveled together for 4 days and filmed during three of them. All this to get 15 minutes of time on the show!

America Unearthed was the #1 show on the old H2 network for three seasons. Travel Channel picked up the show after a couple years of no home for it. This episode was the sixth of ten they made and the network determines the order in which they are shown. They must have loved this one because they put it in the #1 position.
