The existing Mode button on the steering wheel. Up/down button toggles rear and front cameras.

Admiral: Correct only if you power the camera by connecting the 12v + wire (there are two sets of power wires designed into Car Solutions' harnesses: one 6v pos/neg set and one 12v pos/neg set) to the red/power wire integrated into the video feed cable supplied with this NATIKA camera https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078ZZSKQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I connected a clearly labeled 12v pos/red wire on CS harness (all connections are somewhat intuitive) to the red/pos video wire as presented in Iampraneel's video. On the camera end, I connected a stand-alone red/positive wire bundled with a paired red/black wires to the video red wire as pictured in a previous post. Once I tested the unit and all worked, I cut and secured the paired red/black wires on the camera side.

Nice video! How do you remove the panel under the steering wheel column, just simply pull it out as well, any bolts to be aware of?

    Thanks!

First you remove the door sill, then you have to remove the panel to the lower left. Then you remove the 3 10mm bolts holding the panel below the steering wheel. After that, you gently pry it off.

Does anyone have advice on how to get the AV cable from the camera through the firewall grommet?

I'm assuming with the yellow head/connector on the cable, that it's not easy to push it through the grommet.

Do you cut the AV cable to push it through, and then reconnect on the other side with a butt connector or soldering? Or am I missing something?

Do not cut the AV cable! I used a screwdriver and carefully pushed from the inside out. From the engine side, I folded the AV cable and taped it well onto the screwdriver, pulling it back through the rubber grommet into the cab. From there, just pull the AV cable head side.

    Good luck!

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. I thought it was something like that...while I don't know a lot about the innards of an AV cable, I thought they might be a bit more complicated than a regular electrical wire. :notsure:

I just installed this exact setup, same camera. Works awesome, I didn't see his video until after but I appreciate the post. I love how it looks factory, no extra buttons to install. It works flawlessly using the mode/ up/ down buttons on the steering wheel. If you hold the up button on either camera the camera will stay on the screen until you exit out by hitting mode again.

I installed my camera dead center of my fake pro grill and it was a pain in the ass, I had to notch the garnish cover. Turned out super clean and the view is dead center of my truck which I wanted.

Took me 3 hours start to finish without his video.

simple question, when you double tap the mode button, does it change the mode on the stereo or affect the stereo?

This is probably obvious to most people, but I wanted to call out how the wiring diagram that comes with the controller box shows the power wires connected red to black and black to red

This is of course wrong. Don't hook it up like that or you'll fry your control box and probably more.

Other than that, super straightforward, fun, cool mod
