You don't have to bury yourself in debt with a new vehicle to have a fun lifestyle change. While used Tacomas can be expensive, deals can be found as well for the patient shopper.

Whatever you do, include a lot of test drives. Particularly if you plan on a '16+. Lots of folks around here lodge complaints about stuff that would have been easily discovered by paying attention on test drives, rather than being overwhelmed by that new car smell and wondering which set of RockStar wheels they were going to put on it.

Take your time shopping, have any financing you need pre arranged with a CU. Check with your insurance carrier for rates on various years to determine if there is any tipping points there. Sell your Chevy outright if you can, you should get more than a trade in, regardless of what a dealer tells you they are 'giving' you.

Test drive! It's so obvious, I know, but based on half the threads started on this forum, I'm not so sure. Don't be like some of the donkeys who post here and buy the truck, sans test drive, based strictly on looks, then come on to this forum & whine about the way the truck drives...
