I purchased these 3” steps in summer 2009, a few months after buying my 2009 dcsb.

Overall, I’ve been satisfied with the look and function. My only complaint is regarding the rust, which I guess is understandable, living in the salty Northeast.

Sometime around mid-2016 I noticed the powder coat bubbling a bit under the drivers side rear door, then not long after, spotted the same bubbling in the same spot on the passenger side. I figured that would could get a few more years out of them by wire brushing and painting them.

Well the bit of bubbling on the front side was nothing compared to the very rusty delaminating back side. I decided they were to far gone and I’d run them until I couldn’t tolerate how bad they looked. A couple months ago, the wife and kids decided it looked bad enough.

Here are some photos of yesterday’s swap:

Though I’m disappointed in the rust, I’ve really liked the Nfabs and would have purchased them myself had I not received them as a gift.

I agree and am satisfied. Though this time I loaded up the inside of the steps with Fluid Film hoping to increase longevity.
