I recently replaced my lower idler and found it was a larger bearing design over the mid smooth idler which was a 6203, not a 6303. The lowest ribbed idler which rides directly to the right of the crank if you are looking at the engine head on has the largest bearing design of the bunch since it handles immediate load from the crank and is considered an "alternator" bearing by product descriptions. Makes sense.

While your info is correct, unless I am misreading it or something the quantity of 4 6303 bearings and the quantity of 1 6203 bearing in order to do a full idler rehaul is backwards. You need 4 6203s and 1 6303 bearing.

X2 on Timken bearings. They make excellent products.

Yeah the OP is going to be very long with information for the blower. It's already sort of come to the point where people are asking for info on mods that is already posted so they just get kicked back to page 1 for previous reference. Lol.

Pretty sure I need to swap out some pulleys on the front of the truck as well. I get a squealing in the mornings when I start up for the first few minutes. Not all the time, but enough that its on the brain now

Anybody issues relocating my coolant pump to the circled location? My only concern is if it will have any issues the few times it could potentially be fully submerged.

Ahh, I see the way they are built. You can't really see their size because of how they are mounted. I guess the only one which uses a 6203 is going to be the mid idler. Makes sense.

I'm going to take your info and directly copy paste it into page 1 when I do the update.

Great thread, wished I read it sooner so I don't have to go through 748 pages to catch up but the topic is worth it to me.

So here are some of my join the club finer points, I am an XR-U refugee but not because I drive an X:

Here is what I am running:

2005 Tacoma TRD Off Road bought new with a pop up camper now at 194,000 miles, gross weight when loaded is right around 6,300 pounds. I use the camper in the truck about 3/4 of the year for work, remove it for maintenance and hauling things. Average operating elevation is 8,000 at where we live down to 5,000 and as high as 12,500. At 55K I had my dealer install the TRD S/C and then gradually went down the rabbit hole of the following, no regrets:

    TRD CAI
    TRD S/C, TRD flash
    URD 2.85 pulley
    URD 7th injector
    Walboro 255 fuel pump
ARP head studs with Cometic gaskets
    UCON EMS
    URD Spec-U headers
URD Spec-U exhaust straight piped, raspy-buzzy version.
    Innovate A/F-R wideband gauge
    Boost gauge
    Scangauge-II
    Oil catch can

Now I have a dilemma, for good reasons I totally missed out on the frame rust settlement and I am out of luck and it is indeed toast. So I have pulled all weight off the truck and it has been pulled from duty and I am likely buying a rather gutless 2019 in a month or two. I thought about paying for a new frame and sucking it up but there is just too much that will need replacing down the road as well such as wheel bearings, CV, trans, etc.

So it is going to become a project truck for now, my off road shop is going to weld some plates to get me by while I wrangle funds for the Gen-3. I will need to somehow either replace the frame or find a good solid replacement truck with a good frame and start over again with that, put my go fast goodies on it or put my proven motor in it.

I have probably put north of $50K into this and had planned to keep it in service until 2025, the power is just fantastic and it handles the camper wonderfully. What would you do with a truck like this, awesome motor with still great compression but a totally hosed frame? Part it out? Keep it as a project truck that screams?

I don't want to let it go but I have to get a solid solution under the camper and only a mid size will work with it...and they all suck, LOL!

Instead of a 2019, find a low mileage 2015 and swap all the good stuff over.

I haven't followed the frame repla
Then sell one of the two engines, or keep it as backup.

Or the harder route of buying a frame, and having his off-road shop replace it. Just depends on the overall costs associated with each avenue.

Sorry about your frame, that sucks man.

I agree with @loginfailed. If you value power at all you’ll be disappointed with a 3rd gen ... and might be disappointed anyway. Find a good low mile 2015 and move the goodies over.

What tire size are you running? Every time I visit mexico I always run out in the top end it seems. But I am running big heavy tires, and still on my baby 2.85 pulley (not much longer).

Damn those are some small tires. Do you have a hypertech to calibrate the speedo for the slightly smaller diameter than stock xrunner tires? I calibrated mine with the hypertech for the 34” tires, but the needle moves a lot slower than yours either way.
