Hey guys, I've read a couple of threads on how to trick the truck to make it think that its parked. So I can enter a address while in motion, but they are either old or I'd have to make the harness myself. I don't want to splice or alter the factory electrical wiring. Does anyone know if there is someone selling the harness that can bypass the nav and have the always on rear camera?!

My kit just arrived yesterday, I haven't even opened it. I plan on installing it Saturday, I also opted to get the Navigation override.

I did the anytime backup camera mod and had to splice in the nav override. It was pretty easy to do, but I did wish he offered the nav overrides at the time. But if your doing the nav override you might consider getting the camera kit so you're only pulling stuff apart once.

I probably use the nav override less than 6 times a year, but it's nice having it so my wife can enter an address while we're moving. I wish the truck was a little smarter knowing someone is in the passenger seat and to make everything available, but this solves it nicely.

i've read over the backup/ anytime camera thread, but knowing they made it a little easier is good and since i waited for the close to plug and play type thing, i'm interested to know how much different it is.. i'm in the same boat, i think if the seat can turn the air bag on and off it should be able to let the person sitting in the seat use the nav..

I was thinking about doing this. So you cut the wire on pin 27 and nothing changed?

Same as if nothing was done. And my switch is good, the circuit is really open in one position.

Have worked on something else since my post, but I will try to monitor the pin when moving and not moving, to see what kind of voltage is there. Maybe it need a pull-down or pull'up resistor on one side...

I really thought this was a 12v or 0V circuit. That's how it worked on my 2014. Let me know if you get it figured out.

    stockish for now
Perhaps ground it, like when installing an aftermarket stereo to allow DVD playback while in motion?

2016+ it’s a speed sensor, something like 0 to 3v, but since 0v is not moving cutting it works fine. BUT is does effect the GPS resolution, so cutting it and leaving it cut means your gps is slower to update, which is why a switch is better. No idea on 2020+ though, but from the link above one would assume it’s the same (which doesn’t seem to be the case from StephB post)

I would think it would work the same on 2020+ since anytimebackupcamera.com sells a kit to override it by simply cutting the wire and adding a switch. Plus I doubt Toyota re-engineered the vehicle speed sense.
