We just use a phone to trigger the camera, which is on a tripod.

Most photos are taken with a Sony A7ii, others are just with an iPhone.

We finished up in Moab, headed to Page, AZ to tour some slot canyons. Took a crack at the draw for The Wave with no luck. Camped out in a Walmart. Made our way to Navada and spent the night outside Death Valley at the Big Dune.

Journey continues...Death Valley for some sailing stones, Ventura, and a dog friendly beach in Santa Barbera, spent the night on the beach at Oceano Dunes and journeyed up the PCH with some osteriches and elephant seals along the way.

Thanks everyone for tuning in, those who offered advice, support, burgers and beers we thank you all. We've made it back home after 15 days on the road and a few days with family at the end. Did a total of 8400kms, slept in the truck for 11 of those nights, most of which was in free campsites thanks to a few apps like Campendium and Boondocking.

After a bit of rough start, once we got the sleeping arrangements sorted out, dogs pain pills in check and a few more miles logged in the wheel chair she really seemed to enjoy herself.

As it was our first time touring around the USA (other then Hawaii), I must say what a beautiful country it is and we are already planning a trip back along the same route next year with a little more time.

We aren't sure how much time we have left with our girl, but for now she seems to still be happy.

*Edit* Just saw you already did this.

I took my dog on one last trip last summer and had to put him down the other month. Glad to see you taking her out for one last trip as well. My dog had a splenic mass that would have required emergency surgery and no guarantee that he would even make it through surgery. I had to make the hard decision and let him go after 13 years.

Anyway, I did 1/2 of the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR) and it stretches across the state along the cascade mountain range. Very scenic.

    Miss this furball.

Man your story made me all teary eyed. What a cool memory and devotion to your buddy. I went through something similar almost exactly one year ago with my best friend Beau who passed on from lymphoma. I believe you are doing the right thing in keeping things going the way you were doing them before your dog got sick. One tremendous resource that changed my outlook on my pup when he was sick with lymphoma is the book “Buddhism for pet lovers” by David Michie. The book offers hope and a refrained view of the life you are sharing with your best friend. Here’s a picture of my best friend Beau at one of his favorite vacation places (Santa Barbara)who passed on a year ago and thank you for your story and adventure that you shared with us.

Thanks again everyone, unfortunately we had to say goodbye last week. It was heartbreaking, but it was her time.

We took her out for hotdogs, cheeseburgers and ice cream first, she left with a full belly and surrounded by loved ones.

Man that’s how you do it! Full of food and surrounded by loved ones during your last moments. That’s how I would want to go out as well. Letting my pup go was one of the hardest things I had to do as well but just remember your pup will always be with you and never leave you.

I hope this helps. I have this framed in a guest bathroom, as I don't think I could read it every day.

    A Dog's Prayer
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

    --Beth Norman Harris
