Popping noise

    2013 four door short bed 2” lift front and back extra leaf spring on rear
    my truck makes a popping noise if I accelerate around a corner and some times when I accelerate going straight. It sounds like a Chevy truck I had once and the chain in the t case had stretched. My question is can the chain slip when I am in 2 wheel drive?

    My truck has 280000ish miles on it I have owned it for about 2 years I have replaces then carrier bearing and a couple of u joints but that was because they where bad and not because of the noise it makes it has been popping for about 9 months if I back off the throttle it quits popping and drives normal. I am hoping to have time to see what the oil in the t case looks this weekend.
