    So hey,
I am brand new to truck ownership with my purchase of a 2017 Tacoma Sport. Please bear with me as I am bound to ask noob questions and appear foolish. Not knowing what I was getting other than, you know, wanting a Tacoma, I have questions about changing the suspension as the "sport" suspension seems good if I drive on a track and not in Maine. I have read on he forums about the Bilstein 5100s but not seeing recommendations for new springs. A Toyota mechanic said I would need to change the springs as well to gain any benefit.
    Any input would be great.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to TacomaWorld!

You can use your stock springs on 5100’s. There are four options for ride height. You can have stock height, .85”, 1.75”, or 2.5” of lift.

Or you can buy lift coils to use on them.

There is a lot of info (and much debate) on TW to help you decide which is the better option for you. I recommend doing some reading around here to learn which one will suit your needs.
