Deer hunting BS thread

Dalson popped another one this weekend

 

Slept in today

 

Watched the same 4 long beards from the window this morning doing their morning thing . There are around 4 guys with permission that can hunt and at least 2-3 others that come in from other directions . Us trespassers . All these years “25” I’ve been hunting birds over there and on.y thought one guy had permission. Highly pressured birds one is a monster well over 25 pounds .

Were goin to get decals made for our truck windows on our lease. one guy drew this up. its one of the big bucks we had that they got last year. we have membership cards but no body lays them on the truck dash.mainly helps farm hands of landowner know we are good to be there!

A Little Humor to get us to next deer season. gonna put some deer loins on the cooker later.

 

Whelp, this coming season I intend to be my first bowhunting season. Been flinging sticks almost every day since I picked up this beauty at the beginning of April.

 

Good luck! My first bowhunt was 28 years ago and I love it as much now as I did then.

 

The adreniline rush of having deer within yards will hook you..and you have to move to draw..best part is when you follow thru and see the arrow disapear rite behind the shoulder.Bam! your hooked fooling an old doe when lots of deer close in on you is as hard as anything in deer hunting

 

I like rifle shots but LOVE bow shots! I got a doe this past season with my Mathews, it had been a while since it drew deer blood!

I still get the shakes if I'm planning on shooting one. If I'm not gonna shoot, I love to watch them go about their business.

 

I do too! Even for a doe...I'd prob really freak out if I saw a super nice buck!

Ive taught my boys you learn more from a deer you let go than one you kill.you see things like how they act, flick of a tail to keep the youngins close, bleats,and other stuff. my oldest watched a small buck horn a tree and make a scrape then piss in it this past year. he said was the best hunt of the year!

 

I had an 8pt make a scrape 50 yards away, walk up to my tree, go back to scrape; 5 times. On the sixth trip, he went home with me.

 

My oldest is turning into a good hunter.our lease manages and he lets alot go that are close to shooters in this old mind..we were together last year had a nice 8pt come in and were whispering ,what you think?he said i dont know dad!BOOM I said i decided for you.A great hunt with my son,he said well guess it was a shooter!!Im just proud he likes to sit together a couple times a year just for father/son time!
