Possible to do elephant hill in utah with 2017 4x4?

Hello all...hope all is well and Happy holidays.

I am thinking of going 4 wheeling on the Elephant Hill 4x4 road in Canyonlands National Park in Utah. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4. Have any of you great people on this forum taken your Tacomas on this 4x4 road? The road has narrow spots and other challenging obstacles that I viewed on YouTube I will be doing this solo and do not want to damage my Tacoma.

Any comment and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I ran it less than a month ago. I'm slightly lifted on Bilstein 5100's Touched my skids in two spots. One was my fault and easily avoidable. I was glad to have a spotter with me in a few other spots though. Be careful through the squeeze, its fairly tight but not incredibly tight. One of the tougher spots is coming back down the hill you climb as the very first obstacle right out of the parking lot. It's quite steep and has a few shelves with tight turns thrown in. 3 pt turns are needed and one section the trail signs even state to pull in forward and back the rest of the way down the hill. The truck is more than capable with a good driver and some good spotting and not being too afraid to touch your skids here and there.

Hello Jumbafri: Thanks so much for such a recent update. Good to know that my Tacoma, with care and a little spotting, will be able to navigate the Elephant Hill road. Your comment about some good spotting is well taken. I definitely would feel much more comfortable with someone to help spot when necessary. I did the Flint Trail road in the Maze district of Canyonlands solo and wished I had someone else with me to spot...it was quite difficult without the assistance. A stock Tacoma can do it but I do recommend a spotter especially if it's your first time and you will bang some stuff. One quick tip is to use 4 low on the initial climb and as soon as you get to the 3 point turn, put it back into 2 wheel drive so you can get turned around easier. Then back into 4 low as you head back up to the top. Once up top, it's easy depending on your line. When you get to the backside, walk the route so you have a good idea what you are doing and to make sure no one is coming up. There is a small section you have to back down that has a drop off that can sneak up on you if you are not careful. Then you still have Coors Hill to deal with just before Devils Kitchen. Just take your time.

I do believe, after the comments I have received on this tread from those who have actually driven Elephant Hill, that it would be in my best interest and my Tacoma, to have someone along for the Elephant Hill adventure.
