Considering moving to an access cab, any regrets from you guys?

Tundras are significantly more expensive if you compare similarly equipped models.

Access cab looks better and functions as well. I was disappointed with how little room there actually is in the rear of a double cab - not really good for adult passengers.

Plenty of Tacoma guys who claim low/mid teens and some Tundra guys who claim up to 20.

I love my access cab. I feel like it has the best look/proportions of all the Tacomas. I need to use one of the back jump seats about once every 3 months, but whoever is sitting back there is also pretty happy that I’m helping them out with whatever truck job we’re doing for them that day. For trips under 30 min or so no one complains. And then on the flip side, I use that nice long 6 foot bed for something or another pretty much every weekend... home and landscape jobs, clearing yard waste, bringing home stuff from Costco, hauling a kayak or outboard, etc.

I had my teenage son along at the dealership and realized right away that "double-cab" in a mid-size truck is a sales pitch. I couldn't put adults I know back there.

I chose DC, but never once looked at it, and envisioned that space used to haul adults any significant distance, rather a spot for the dogs, range gear, and other items I want more secure and/or dry.
    Get whatever fits your situation.

Love my access cab, hate the suicide doors. I would like a double cab but a double cab long bed is just too long for my wheeling. Had to have a long bed so the access cab was the only choice. I do think they look better than a DCSB though, just my opinion.

True, there are a ton of factors involved but in general the difference is 4-5mpg.

I have an access cab and couldn’t be happier everything is in reach from drivers seat. I don’t take any one in it other than my wife but on the rare occasion I do the third person just sits and stretches their legs long ways across the back and seems to be happy. The back definitely surprised me on how much it holds way more than I thought. And with a long bed I can fit both my bikes with no problems

Nobody. The point was you can negotiate on custom builds. It's pretty easy. I was doing it when looking at new cars for the woman.

Love my AC. Keeps my stuff dry. My dogs are happy. Don’t have to give people rides. Truck bed is big enough to use. Nothing to complain about.

Add me to the list that loves my access cab. Just enough storage space within easy reach, and the 6' bed has come in handy way more times than I realized (bikes, furniture mostly). My biggest gripe is the backwards opening doors which is a pain to deal with if there's anything next to you. The huge opening makes up for it a bit.

The lack of seating isn't an issue if you're a multi car family... We plan ahead accordingly and take the Subaru when needed.

It also looks the best to me.

Access cabs rock! Fully functional beds make real pickup trucks. Plenty of room in the cab for my 10 year old daughter and a friend. Everything back there is in arms reach. Additionally they look far better then the stumpy double cabs. Just my opinion tho. Lol
