up here the price difference wasn't too terrible surprisingly, obviously TRD off road access cab isn't a fair comparison for a TRD sport DCLB but my truck was 39,600k CAD prior to purchase and sports were 41 or so

Pepperidge Farm remembers when trucks were a single cab and a bed. That's what a truck was. Passengers were you and your GIRL, maybe dog in the middle. Double dates were you and your bud with both your dogs in the middle.

I absolutely love the functionality and devil-may-care look of the AC with suicide doors. Who doesn’t want to look really cool tossing a tool bag in or grabbing stuff out without walking to the back door like some chump? If and when I produce offspring, I’ll look into fabbing a dclb to open the same way. Until then, I’m keeping the old man taliban tan access cab.

Get a small trailer. In the short term it will accomplish everything you need with the least expense.

I am lucky to have a passenger a half dozen times a year. I am not a taxi and if we need a people mover we take my wife’s civic. I have taken my neice in the back for a 20min ride and I don’ think it was horrible but I wouldn’t stuff an adult back there for anything but the shortest of trips. So for me the AC works. The DC would be useless to me.

Trust me I understand your hobbies. My trailer is where I live but 25 years ago I had a 4x8 sheet of plywood on a seadoo trailer to haul my racebike. A simple rail trailer might be your best bet for now.

My mom, on riding in my access cab for the first time today.

"This has seats in the back? How is your sister supposed to get in if it only has two doors?"

"I bruised my leg trying to climb in because of that rollbar below the door."

"I feel like I'm going to lose a finger if your sister closes the back door."

"I like this. It's like a pickup truck, but bigger."

Lol, I'm starting to understand how Stun Gun and friends have so many posts. But did the OP ever return to this thread? It doesn’t look like it.

I came to say that the OP doesn’t seem to need a truck — just a car or crossover or CUV with a 2” hitch and the ability to tow, perhaps? Maybe all the moto gear fits better in an open-bed truck. And maybe it’s too late to change course for the OP, but I sure would rethink owning a $30,000 23 mpg truck with cramped rear seating if the bed were empty ~355 days out of the year.

At seventy-four, I am not certain of the truth of the statement below but I did find it clever.
PS I took it as a joke.

I just got the only AC Cavalry Blue TRD Sport with Premium Package within 500 miles of my area. Tried to buy it through another dealer. Trade was shot down. Had to go to the dealer with the truck to get it. What a PITA that whole process was.

The key is too properly adjusting the front seats. Many people put their seats back way too far unnecessarily IMO. the front passenger will needs to move their seat as far forward as possible to where they are still comfortable. Or you put the shorter passenger in front and have them slide the seat forward as far as possible.

Bring your cart up to the front fender past your front door. Open your front door slightly and then open the back door and then close the front door. Pull your cart close and load your stuff in the rear access Cab space. Remember to open front door slightly before closing back door.
