You have definitely never been out trying to find the perfect camping spot with my wife. We can put 80 miles on the odometer in a 10 square mile forest driving around in circles... too flat, too hilly, no view, no privacy :annoyed:

I took the boat out with that setup. Pretty nice, but my little 10ft boat is more than half the width. I need to get measurement of my friend's to see if they will both fit.

Can you post a close up of how you are connecting the chain to the tailgate? I’m trying to figure it out but a bit confused. It looks pretty simple but after looking at mine I’m confused lol

Put the chain into the locking mechanism then close it (rotate it) .

And don't use your tailgate handle until you want the chains out.

Made this rack out of 3 scrap 2x4s. I made a swivel to a 3 rail on the tail gate. You can then tie your load down using the D hooks next to the tail gate. It then hangs on a framing nail in the corner of the garage. Redneck but it’s worked for years.

My father-in-law's patio stairs are shot and we had talked about replacing the stringers and treads this summer... Then I thought about how the hell to get the 2x12's home... I'm probably just being overly paranoid at the moment but putting a 12' board in the back of my 5' box is a little iffy. I'd only be traveling a couple miles (no highways). Would you just strap it down and flag it, and pay extra attention when backing into the driveway o_O.

I could borrow a friends regular cab POS with a 8' box, that could be easier... It's still gonna stick out but it won't be like 7' out the back.
