The same shit everyone else has.
Finally gettin round to addressing the rear shocks on my truck.

It has a set of Bilstein 5100 on the rear. They were fine with the add a leaf I added when I started modifying this truck.

They are no longer fine, the one is blown out and the other is leaking. Plus the both top out now with the current suspension.

    Current suspension -

    - TSB leafs. Wheelers 3 leaf add a leaf. 1/2” blocks. Ride Rites w/ Daystar cups.

I did some measuring today finally.

At ride height, from shock mount to shock mount is 21.5”

With the shocks unbolted, at full droop, the distance between the shock mounts is 25”.

The distance between the Daystar cups and frame is 4.5”.

If I’m measuring correctly, my specs should be 25” extended and 17” collapsed.

I wanna stick with Bilsteins again since I was happy with their performance.

I’ve been eyeballing B110 5100s which are sold as being designed for a 4” lift.

They spec at 16.3” collapsed and 27.2” extended.

If I’m understanding correctly, my suspension should fully cycle both up and down without the B110s bottoming or topping out and be the correct length shocks I need for my application.

There should be an inch of up travel left in the shock and two inches of down travel left in em.

Can anyone verify that my thought process and numbers are correct?

    Here’s some fun pictures.

Full droop w/ the shocks unbolted. Roughly 2” too short for the lift I’m running. The 5100s are 23.9” which makes sense why they keep topping out

Resurection. I am currently diggin through the webs as well to try and find some clarity on a match for my truck. running 5100s currently. wondering if youve got your setup figured out by now which im sure you do. what is the process of measuring your droop? where do you take the measurements from and what is the ideal outcome in shock selection? im probably going to run a variation of the fox 2.0 with res (are these only in piggyback form? prefer a body mount bracket). any help or insight from your process/findings would be greatly appreciated. hope you and your loved ones are well! cheers! @steveo27
