I have a question. I was recently in a car crash and my car is now a total loss. I had a fox 2.0 coil overs and rear fox shocks on my 2014 Tacoma 2wd truck. Giving me a 3”. My truck is now at a insurance lot. My question is would it be a hassle to take out my front and rear shocks and replace them with the stock ones it came with. I don’t won’t to take a loss on the lift. Plus I can’t really find a mobile mechanic to do this in my area. Would I be able to do it myself. Seen some videos don’t seem extremely hard. Any advice would be appreciated.

I asked my insurance company a similar question just yesterday and it went like this -

I'm going to be traveling to unfamiliar areas and given the nature of my vehicle, and it's "easy to break into/easy to steal" nature, will my specific modifications add to the appraised value of my vehicle?

Their answer was, aside from required maintenance, since I opted to spend some money on mods such Fox 2.5 coil over fronts, Fox 2.0 rears, and OME Dakar's, I will be compensated for said mods if I provide receipts/pictures.

I believe it too because earlier this year I had a small claim for my rear cloth interior that turned out to pay out over $1,100 on my '16 5.0; money was deposited into my account and I used it to upfit the car with all brand new Katzkin leather.

The year before that I had a windshield replaced at no cost and $0 deductible as well as having another car broken into a few years ago before that. Since the items stolen were discontinued, I was paid out the value for "current" generation (ipod and car stereo).

And no, my rates have never gone up.

Show your insurance company receipts and they will cover it. Good luck.
