well folks, I have done quite a bit of searching and I am still trying to figure out what to do. I’ve decided to keep my 2004 double cab, and want to throw in some fresh suspension.

Currently sitting on sway away 2.0 IFP, Camburg UCAs, AAL out back with Bilstein 5100s. They are all tired and would rather replace than rebuild the c/o

Looking at Fox 2.5 R/R extended up front, and 2.0 extended in the rear for use with an OME Dakar leaf pack, going to do the extended brake line as well.

Was also looking at King, but it seems the rear shocks in the stock location will limit me and not work well with Dakar leaf pack. However, I could get Solo motorsports WIY hoops for 10in shocks down the road..

Edit: I regularly tow my duck hunting/fishing boat. Some weekends it will have Dirtbikes in it headed out on the trails (both truck and bikes), or a motorcycle in the bed headed to the track. Other weekends it will be ripping down fireroads or crawling up a trail with hunting gear in the back.. Maybe a jump or two cause why not. More or less a jack of all trades build.

    Wanted to get some
opinions from the those who have done similar setups. Regrets? Success? Would you do it different?

    Thanks guys and gals!

What kind of off-roading will you do?

I went through the thought-process of how I will use my vehicle and determined I would use it for dispersed camping, fire roads, etc.

After reading about others' thoughts on the type of driving I do, I opted to save money and get non-res Fox 2.5 coil overs up front.

Since I've yet to install my new rear OME Dakar leafs and Fox 2.0 non-res, I'm considering buying their res version to better match the 2.5's up front. The rear suspension of our Taco's are really lacking.

Good thinking on the rear extended brake line too; go ahead and add the brake proportioning relocation bracket kit while you're at it.

Totally agree. Rear suspension is such a weak point without relocating shocks. I am with you on the rear remote res and good call on BPV relocation!

I updated with more details on how I use my truck.

Can't comment on other brands but if you go with Fox universal rears, don't forget to buy 3/4" hourglass bushings.

I opted for Fox universal rears for even more rear travel per @Tretiak30 recommendation.
