In 1969 Mother's Day fell on May 11th. Early that morning a large NVA force attacked LZ Oasis in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. We had seven KIA and three captured. The NVA lost 44 that night and another 57 the next day when we caught up to them. There is no hate anymore. They were just brave young men doing what their country asked of them leaving broken hearted mothers on both sides.
