Planning on going camping and I thought it be a cool idea to plug some LED Christmas light using the bed outlet 12v plug. But I'm curious if my car battery will die if I over use it.

    No.

Unless you modified it. Engine has to be running for that outlet to work, so Christmas lights plugged in to your bed while the engine is running... you’re good.

    PS, it’s May.

Is there a 12V plug in the bed?

Well damn, I knew there was 110 AC, but never actually looked under the cover. My excuse is; I've only had the truck for less than 2 months, and we've had about 7 weeks of rain here :D

You can run the outlet in100w mode with the truck in aux mode (not running). 400w mode it needs to be running. I ran a small cooler overnight for a few days with driving during the days and the battery was fine.

Are you sure? I don’t know why they would suddenly change it this year after 13 years of 110 and 400.

You have to press the switch on the dash to convert it from 110 to 400. Check the left side of your steering wheel under the cubby

Yeah mine has both for AC.

OP was inquiring about 12 volts, as in 12 VDC, that's what I was saying I don't have, like an cigarette lighter socket. I'm thinking his confusion, now has is confused :D

You are mixing volts with watts.
There is a 120 Volt outlet, that can be either 100 or 400 watts.

I think your confusing Volts with Watts. You can run it either in 100W or 400W mode at 110 Volts. The differences in the settings will impact how many Amps are available.
