Headlights no...wheels yes. Unless your opening the headlights and painting the insides but not a blacked out housing.

 

I have black rims on mine and I love the way it looks. I plan on getting black headlights. I’ve seen them on other 1st gen Tacoma’s and it looks gorgeous

 

Yeah don't get black lenses. You will regret it. I got black fogs as a test because people told me not to do it and I said "Pff fuck those guys, what do they know about shit" the fogs sucked a fat one. BHLM is badass though and has no affect on performace of the headlight.

The ones I’m gonna get are blacked out housing I would never recommend having the lens be darker bc using common since and logic tells you that it’ll make you lights dimmer. I would recommend getting blacked out housing and upgrading to a led bulb

I personally think black wheels look good with blacked out retrofits (clear lenses, tinted lenses big no), BUT FOR ME the rest of the chrome would need to be blacked out too.

I agree with taco-obsessed I would blackout the grill and the bumper it changes the look dramatically and it’s a clean look

Wheels, then bumpers, and if you like it, grille. Not headlights.
I've seen guys on here say they chose plasti-dip on wheels in case they decided they didn't like it, they could remove. Also saw a guy do black cardboard covers and view from a distance to trial black on his wheels.
Bumper, you could spray some newspaper then wrap it for a trial.

 

I learned the hard way of smoking out my lenses. I used smoked vinyl and will be removing them once I get a chance.
