I got one of these and really like it so far, fits on my belt or backpack's hip belt:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AU6A3JW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Magnetic closure so it's pretty easy to grab out, and I carry a small LCP so it looks like I'm just carrying my cell phone on my hip. I don't have my CWP here yet but I carry it on the larger undeveloped sites I'm at for work. Need to go ahead and get it so I don't get in trouble carrying it in my truck.

I've read great reviews on those but I'd imagine it's not as comfortable while wearing a backpack, plus I'd like to conceal carry in most situations. Open carry is allowed in national forests and while hunting/fishing here, but I dont like to spook people with an open carried weapon. I might end up just hauling bear spray, my 45 is too heavy and my 380 isnt enough for bears but would work on two legged predators

Bear spray is a good way to go and multi functional plus lighter. I'll probably continue to carry mine even in the lower desert vs up in bear country. Still think I will pick up an EDC to start training with and bringing with me when I car camp though.

    Just the basics
Recently picked up the Solostove campfire from eeebay. I'd seen reviews of it on utube but when it arrived I wasn't sure if it would suit me in a campsite. This week is the REI sale and the Ranger model was the lowest I've seen it so picked it up today. Here are a couple comparison pics. Snowpeak lantern for scale.

They have much larger versions. I guess those are more for backyard type use.

Seabass, I think I came across a video on YouTube that you posted. It’s titled “JMT 2017 - Day 1 - Onion Valley to Charlotte Lake via”. Were you up there solo?

Just a bunch of old crap
Yeah that's me from 2017. I did Onion Valley to Yosemite solo that year to finish up the trail. I think I edited and uploaded the first 7 days so far but need to finish up the rest of the trip videos from the 2nd week. Still working on learning Final Cut Pro X to make better vids of my trips.

I also went back last year to fish a small section of the trail and was kicked off after day 3 from really bad wildfire smoke and fire proximity to my route. I spent the last 3 days just day hiking around Mammoth Lakes and hiking in to fish a different lake each day. I made a video series on that 6 day trip as well.

Right on. I’ll check out the other videos.I had a feeling it was you after I saw the name brands of the equipment used etc. It took me a little bit after watching it before I started connecting it all together. I thought to myself....”wait a min, something is familiar here.” heh

What roll up style table is a good one?
Large enough for use, but rolls up for storage.

    Thanks.
REI table has really bad reviews.
Helinox seems too short for our needs.
