hi was looking to get new rims for my 07 tacoma trd sport it has 17” stock rims on now I’m looking at 17x9 with 265/65/17 and a -12 offset just need to know if these rims would work not to sure if the -12 offset will cause rubbing issues?

I am doing the same general modification to my 06 Tacoma. It came stock with 265/65r17's. The previous owner put 17 x 8 wheels with an 18mm offset with 265/70r17 tires. From what I can see there has not been any rubbing anywhere. I did note that I do not have front mud flaps.

My predicament is that there are very few wheel manufacturers producing 17 x 8 wheels with 18mm offset.

So I am considering a 17 x 8.5 with a -12mm offset. There shouldn't be any real difference other than the tire sitting a fraction of an inch wider.

I ended up putting 17 x8.5 wheels zero offset with 265/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT II tires. No rubbing with no lift
