    Hi,

Trying to understand if my 2017 TRD V6 Ext cab Manual transmission with factory towing package has Trailer Sway Control. Dealer say "they think it does". I'd like to know for sure.

    Any input appreciated.

    Manual says this:

    "Trailer Sway Control (if equipped)
Helps the driver to control trailer sway by selectively applying brake
pressure for individual wheels and reducing engine torque when
    trailer sway is detected.
Trailer Sway Control is part of the VSC system and will not operate if
VSC system is turned off or experiences a malfunction."

It does - as stated its part of the VSC system. You never want to use it or depend on it though. If the trailer is swinging enough to trigger VSC, a) there are serious problems that led up to that much sway, and b) consider yourself lucky if it is able to recover.

Trailer sway can cause some serious pucker. I want a double axle to help, but for now, I am stuck with my single. Usually it is either not enough weight on the tongue, too heavy of a load for the trailer, or too high speed. I have had some sway and never felt my system kick in, but also something that I correct IMMEDIATELY.

For trailer sway, the VSC system detects yaw (side to side motion) and it will attempt to reduce it via braking, etc.
