So, I have the Fabtech FTS 2100 on my 2001 Tacoma 4x4 and the shock thats part of that system is leaking and the mechanic who just replaced my lower control arms/ball joint and sway bar link says its nearing its end of life and I should replace it. I am clueless on what shock and bushings to buy and where to buy it. I want something that'll last me years and is going to withstand abuse. Any thoughts? Thanks everyone.

Email sent, I possibly have the skills to undertake a rebuild. How hard is it to do a rebuild on a shock? Thanks

How do you like these shocks? I found some for a really good deal and I am considering buying them. These would be ~$200 with a complete rebuild. My other choice is Icon 2.5 extended travel coils but those are ~$1300, so you can see why the $200 ones seem tempting. I will also get extended UCA's for either set of shocks. I don't race my truck but I do enjoy offroading. I am just looking for more overall performance out of my suspension. The Icon's claim to provide more droop, which is exactly what I am looking for. My concern with these Fabtech ones is that they are a "ricer" lift, meaning I don't gain any offroad performance. So I am just curious if they do provide more performance and whether you would recommend them?

    4 run, 2 don't
I'm not familiar with those Fabtech's at all but if the option exists, you can rebuild them to your liking IE different valving, spring options, extended travel etc.

At least that's the case for other brand shocks.
