Thanks. I’m afraid to take the fly box out. Might have to put a tether on it somehow.

You get the tenkara out yet this year?

I would be too. Looks beautiful.
Was going to this past weekend, but house stuff took over. Hoping to soon. The temps have been great and the rivers are starting to settle down a bit.

It has been a few weeks for me. Creeks are all still blown out. We keep getting inches of rain every few days. I might have to just fish the club lake with the boy for now.

This is the trout capital of Georgia! There’s fish like this all over the place. Just have to know where to look. Lol

I thought for a moment, your son got you an Alpenglow rod. Still jealous of the nice case though.

If only it was an Alpenglow. The case does resemble theirs.

Fished on Friday/Saturday and didn't have much action until I switched to nymphing the deeper pools. Need some overcast days and cooler weather so I can get my dry fix before it gets too hot. I'm fishing the gulf next month and was thinking of getting some new flats boots since my old cabela's booties finally rusted out on me - any suggestions? The simms and orvis models look pretty good but might not be light/flexible enough to pedal my kayak while wearing. I'm in the kayak the majority of the time but if I see fish feeding near an oyster bar or bank I hop out to get closer and not spook them when casting. I'm more worried about rays than oysters but protection from both would be ideal so I don't get steve irwin'd.

I use Simms zipit flats booties, they are really nice, comfy, but I haven't kayaked in them. I would imagine theyd be find and with the zip sides you could keep them unzipped maybe give you some more breath ability. I fish SWFL a lot and have used them down there. You barely need them down where I wade luckily but trust me, oysters are way worse than the rays. If you find the Orvis ones just as comfortable as the Simms, go with Orvis, their customer service is way better if something breaks.

Orvis better than simms? Huh I've had the opposite experience. Simms customer service is almost unbeatable

I don't have personal experience but a good friend had a really bad experience recently with Simms and their CS. I will be avoiding their gear because of it. Just my .02
