You may be one of the only people I'd release mine to. I still have my second gen tacoma devil horns and I have Ryan's first gen devil horns too. I have all the horns.

& I’m the oddball who just bought one, & not for offroading ...

& am making a 24 year old one into a street sports truck- calling it a “sports cart” rather than a “sports car”

Yeah easier just to send it out how it is. My tacoma has all the lift and stuff on it when I traded in. Didn’t feel like swapping anything.

Mine has been great. no issues whatsoever. there is a higher percentage than normal of engine failures on these motors. A lot has to do with the emissions crap, but also there are a large number of main bearing / lower end failures. Happens without warning. low mileage trucks, high mileage truck, no rhyme or reason. It starts knocking, pukes oil and fluids and leaves you stranded waiting on a tow truck. These issues get magnified on the forums, kind of like the turd gen forums on here. most are happy, and will be fine....maybe. So there has been a class action lawsuit in the works for some time, and it settled on May 5. Eligible trucks (generally 2014-2016 models) need to get in and get the AEM update (approved emissions modification) which is a reflash of your ecm. wipes out my tune and goes back to stock configuration. The main thing I like about the tune is it turns off the EGR, the exhaust gas recirculation, which pumps the sooty shit back through the intake for a reburn to clean it up a bit. The intake gets caked up over time and fouls up the valves in there. Payout is up to $3000, or $2400 if the former owner makes a claim within 90 days of the settlement date. (he would get $600 as a former owner) The payment is to cover diminished value we believe. So I will get it done and take the money and run, most likely. :notsure:

Most of the newer diesels from big rigs to the smaller ones in cars and trucks have been having issues since all the emissions stuff came about. It sucks.
Glad I wasn't the only one that saw that and didn't comprehend.

Yeah its a shame, I like the diesel but the emissions crap has really make them irrelevant these days.
